Frequently asked questions

Is MockCode free?

Yes. There is no paid tier, no trial, and no upgrade prompt.

Is it for real cardiac arrests?

No. MockCode is strictly for simulation and education. It is not a medical device and must not be used with real patients.

Does it need an account or internet?

Neither. Open the app and start a session. It works fully offline.

What data does it collect?

None. No personal information, patient data, location, device identifiers, analytics or advertising data.

Where is session information stored?

Up to five anonymous session summaries are kept locally on the device and are removed when the app is uninstalled.

Does it measure compression depth?

No. MockCode records facilitator input and does not connect to a feedback manikin.

What is the difference between Timed and Live CPR?

Timed uses one tap to start and one to pause. Live records one tap per compression and is the only way to capture true compression rate from taps — use it with a dedicated observer.

What is the difference between Pause CPR and Pause Scenario?

Pause CPR is a clinical hands-off interval and counts against CCF. Pause Scenario freezes the whole simulation for teaching or a technical issue.

Does the scorecard certify competence?

No. It produces prompts for discussion, not a validated composite score or a competency judgment.

Can I use it for ACLS and PALS sessions?

Yes. MockCode supports adult and pediatric protocols. Selecting objectives and applying current local guidance remains with the facilitator.

What happens if the patient re-arrests?

Tap Re-Arrest. The previous arrest is stored as its own episode with its own metrics and scorecard, and the final report covers every episode.

Can I export the report?

Yes, through the native share sheet. Nothing is uploaded automatically.

Can I request a feature?

Yes — email support@mockcode.app with the subject line Feature Request.
